PBS Learning Media shares a helpful video for children and youth. In the video, Nadia, a young Muslim-American girl, describes the celebration of Ramadan, in which Muslims fast, or go without food and drink, during the day. She narrates a day in the life of her family of parents and siblings as she completes the fast for a whole day. Nadia explains when Ramadan happens, what happens from the beginning to the end of the day, and what it means for adults and children. The video ends with a description of the holiday celebration that ends the fasting month of Ramadan, and what carries over into the next year.
