Eli’s Story
Two year old Eli’s mother, Melanie, knew early on that her son was a superhero in training. Born with Down syndrome and a heart defect, he went on to learn to do many of the things his more typically developing friends could do. That’s how he earned the nickname Super Eli!
“Being the parent to a child with special needs takes extra time and energy,” Melanie says. “I never thought I’d have to spend 2+ hours a week with a therapist teaching my child how to sit, crawl, speak, and eat.” Eli had his first physical therapy appointment when he was nearly two months old. “It’s almost hard to remember the tiny baby that could barely stay awake for a whole hour of therapy,” she recalls.
That’s what it’s all about – helping children like Eli reach their unique potential.
Every year, more than $3M in uncompensated care is given to CTC families who are unable to cover the cost of therapy for their child. Your donation makes that possible!
